Opportunities to celebrate the creative & whimsical delights of plant based cuisine!

The winter is a time when us creative types in PEC have time to collaborate with each other….and this event has been brewing for sometime!!! Tamara Segal, 555 Brewery and I have put our talents together to create a gruit (a beer made with local wild plants instead of hops). And to celebrate I will be preparing a 5 course meal using The Fives gorgeous wood fired oven. All attendees will get a bottle of Gruit to take home.

Springtime in the County… and there is no better way to celebrate than to head down to the beautiful  Huff Estates Winery for a gourmet plant based meal. This time of year is special to me, as the first shoots of wild plants emerge, at their most tender nutritious and welcome stage. This meal will include freshly harvested  wild and domestic shoots,  sprouts , little leaves and roots conveying all the county has to offer at this amazing time of year!!! Huff’s delicious wine will be available by the glass and for pairing .  April 27th  6:30pm , call 613-393-5802 to RSVP.

I will be collaborating with the good folks of the Waring House to put on a multi-course plant based extravaganza  as part of Maple in the County. The meal is called “Sap :an ode to the maple tree” and as usual it will offer some interesting perspectives on both plant based cuisine and working with maple trees to make a meal delicious! It is on Sat March 30th and the cost is $50 RSVP to (613) 476-7492.

ALSO: This meal is celebrating the series of plant based cooking classes that  i will be offering at the Waring House Cooking School. On the last Thursday of each month, I will be offering insight into how to integrate plant based cooking ideas into your meal- time regime… simple ideas to make your plant based food easy, beautiful and delicious!!!(more details to follow)

This is going to be epic!!! With ice as my muse and fire as my tool i am creating a meal that will delight and surprise. Really excited to be working with the Ice Box crew to help make their vision a reality! Your $70 includes all taxes and tip…and proceeds go to the festival. Banka: in Japanese means: ‘late summer’, ‘elegy’, and, in old japanese ‘tomato’  . i will be collaborating with herbalist tamara segal(hawthorn herbals) for this special event that aims to be a celebration of late summer in the county and all it brings. Arrive at 5:30pm and be guided by tamara around new moon farm to learn about the plants that surround us. arrive back and be treated to a gourmet five course plant based meal prepared by yours truly.

As this is happening in early Summer, there will be abundant county bounty for me to work with and i can’t wait.
